Here’s a list of 3 common issues with your ScreenScape display that are easily resolved:

1. Incorrect Time

If the time of day in your ScreenScape display isn’t correct, then you’ll want to check and possibly adjust the time within your operating system. In Windows, you can double click on the the time in the bottom right hand corner of your screen to adjust it. Also, be sure to set the correct Time Zone (as you might expect, located under the Time Zone tab) so when the time is automatically synchronized with the web server it wont re-adjust your clock based on the wrong time zone.

2. Running Flash in 64 Bit Browser

So you’ve set up your kiosk shortcut, however Abode’s website won’t let you install Flash, stating you can’t run Flash in a 64 bit browser. You’re likely running the 64 bit version Internet Explorer in Windows Vista or Windows 7. To get this working you will follow all the normal steps for creating a kiosk shortcut except point to the location of the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer. This is located here:

“C:Program Files (x86)Internet Exploreriexplore.exe” -k -nohome http://[yourvenuehere].screenscape.net

After that you should be able to install Flash and run your display.

3. Widgets in my Playlist Aren’t Appearing In My Display

If you have a widget that is listed in your playlist but isn’t appearing on your display, you might check to see if the widget is “Active”. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the listing in the playlist to edit the widget. From there, make sure the Active box is filled in on the left hand side. If it isn’t, click on the box and save the widget. It will now be added to the rotation.
