A software bug is an error, flaw, failure or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways. Software bugs can be frustrating and can reveal themselves in a variety of different ways within a software application. From Facebook to FaceTime, no software is exempt from these tiny little annoyances.
So, what does a software bug look like? Perhaps you’re trying to click on a button or a link within the ScreenScape app, but when you do, nothing happens. Or maybe you’re trying to log in to your account, but when you click on the Login button, you keep getting an error message with no explanation as to why. No matter what the bug is, if you find one, then ScreenScape wants to hear from you! That is why we have integrated a new feedback tool inside our app called ScreenScape Bugs. ScreenScape Bugs is a simple tool that allows ScreenScape users to report any software bug from within their account.
If you find a software bug in the ScreenScape app, then click on the user account icon in the upper right hand side of the selection tray. Then, click on Report a bug. You will be directed to bugs.screenscape.com where you can submit your bug report.
- Start by giving a brief description about the bug you observed. E.g. I am unable to delete my Media items when I click on Delete Item.
- Next you will have the opportunity to provide some more details about the suspected bug. It’s important that you be as specific and as detailed as possible. The more details you provide us, the quicker and more efficiently we’ll be able to diagnose and fix the software bug. So please try to tell us exactly what you did and what happened when you did it.
- Then you’ll need to choose a category for the bug you’ve discovered. You can choose one of the following options from the drop-down menu: Hardware, Media, Playlists, Other or Web app. Do your best to select the category that most pertains to the bug in question.
- Lastly, fill in your email address and click Send. That way we can send you email updates regarding the status of the bug you’ve reported.
Once you’ve submitted your bug report, it will be triaged by our development team and added to an internal tool that manages and organizes the ScreenScape product roadmap. When there are updates made to your bug report, the submitter of the bug will be automatically notified of any status changes to the issue.
And that’s all there is to it! We thank you in advance for helping us discover and squash any software bugs that may arise within the ScreenScape application. If you happen to find something else that doesn’t seem quite right, but you don’t think it’s an actual software bug, then please email our Customer Success Team at email@example.com and we’ll be more than happy to shed some light on the issue.
