Configuring Advanced WiFi Settings

The ScreenScape Connect Device supports the following WiFi security types: Open Network, WEP, WPA/WPA2. WPA2 Enterprise. The device also has the capability to be programmed to connect to a non-broadcasted SSID (hidden WiFi network).

It is important to note that you can only use the Smartphone Method setup method if you are connecting the device to an Open network, WEP or WPA/WPA2 network that is broadcasted (not hidden).  If you need to configure the device to connect to a non-broadcasted SSID (hidden WiFi network) or a WPA2 Enterprise network then you will have to connect a USB keyboard to the device to complete the Advanced WiFi setup.

The following guides are written from a initial setup perspective. If you are attempting to change the WiFi that is currently configured on a device then you can connect a USB keyboard to the device and press CTRL+SPACE to access the WiFi setup screen.

Configuring a Non-Broadcasting SSID (Hidden WiFi Network)

STEP 1: Connect a USB keyboard to the device using one of the available USB ports. Once prompted, press the Enter key.

STEP 2: You will now be on the Connect to the Internet page. On your keyboard, press Ctrl A to access the Advanced network setup page.

STEP 3: Type in your SSID in the Network Name field. Select the required network security type. Enter your password (If required). Once completed, press the Enter key to Connect to the non-broadcasted network.

On completion of the WiFi setup, the device will reboot itself and then be ready to play your media. If you haven’t already, you can now create some new media, add that media to a playlist, and then publish a playlist to your device from your ScreenScape account.
