Charlottetown, PE—January 26, 2011
TORONTO, ON and CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – (January 26, 2011) The Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) announced today it has acquired a ScreenScape Group license to power its own digital signage network. A ScreenScape Group allows OTA to distribute rich media content, such as instructional video, to individual tennis clubs also using the community-based platform to power screen displays in their own local facility.
Using techniques more commonly associated with social media, ScreenScape is a fast-growing digital signage platform that is growing in popularity among recreation facilities as a do-it-yourself media service.
“Having more than 200 member clubs we see this platform as a very cost-effective way to form a communication link between our member sites so that we can provide them with marketing support and coordinate messaging across the entire association.” said Peter Malcomson, Marketing Manager for OTA. “We will provide content to our member displays, but they are also free to add their own localized content as well, which makes for a richer, more relevant media experience.”
Ontario Tennis Association operates through a network of tennis clubs including community, private and commercial clubs, municipal parks, recreation departments and resorts. OTA serves approximately 55,000 members through a wide variety of programs designed to assist in the development of players, coaches, volunteers and facilities.
“We are always looking for better ways to connect with our members and ScreenScape has become a powerful communication vehicle for us. Using our ScreenScape group we can keep members up to date on the latest tennis related news, tournament results, event announcements and so on. We can also use the tool to offer more compelling sponsorship opportunities to our business partners in a way that benefits everyone involved. We invite Tennis Clubs to take a good look at what ScreenScape can do for their own club and, through Groups like OTA, for the Tennis community at large.” added Malcomson.
“The Ontario Tennis Association is a professionally-run sporting organization offering coordination and considerable resources to its members” said Kevin Dwyer, President and CEO of ScreenScape. “As publishers of Ontario Tennis Magazine they are also a source of value-added content to the tennis community. The business model behind ScreenScape is a great fit for associations like OTA which operate on a tight budget. Our technology is simple to deploy, easy-to-manage and it allows them to take advantage of a custom-branded media service without breaking the bank. “
