Adjust Power Options

ScreenScape recommends that media players have their power saving options turned off. When power saving options are turned on, the media player may inadvertently “go to sleep” or hibernate. This behaviour could interrupt the operation of your display.

To ensure that your power saving options are optimal:

Windows 7

  • Go to Start > Control Panel > Power Options
  • Click Show additional plans
  • Select High Performance. This maximizes the brightness level of your screen and also helps increase the media player’s performance.
  • Click the corresponding Change plan settings link
  • For the Plugged in option, set Turn off the display and Put the computer to sleep both to Never
  • Click Save changes

  • In the box labeled System standby, select Never
