How To Create Content

All content is created using the Create Content button, found on the PUBLISH tool.

1. Select a Design

The first step when creating content involves choosing a template for the layout. Ask yourself some basic questions while browsing through the templates:

• What’s the purpose of the content? (Selling a product? Entertainment? Education?)
• How is the core message delivered? (A video? An image? Text?)
• What’s the optimal layout? (1 image + Large Text over-top? 1 Video on the left + Text on the right?)
• Are additional elements like branding or advertising needed? (Logo? Sidebar advertisement?)

A good rule of thumb is “keep it simple”. The more focused your message, the stronger the impression it will make on your audience.

Each template has a brief description including the assets it uses (Hosted video, Image, Weather, RSS), the duration, recommended image dimensions, any additional effects, etc. Using that information, you can easily find a template that suits your needs.

To view the description, click the arrow in the right corner for the desired template. If the particular template you chose doesn’t suit, you can come back to the templates and choose another.

Once you decide on your template, click on it to go to the next step.

2. Customize

Every template has areas that you can customize. To customize a template you’ll use elements like text, images, and video specific to your message. Step through each customizable area in your chosen template and add your own custom text or image and video from the Asset Library. Some areas must be filled, like the video area in a full screen video design, while others are optional, like a descriptive footnote for the same video.

Click Next to go to the last step.

3. Describe

To help describe your new Content, give it a Title and a Description. You may also put it on a schedule, or share with others in the Community. If you are a Group Manager, you will also see Group Publishing options at this step.

Click Save to save your work.
